What is a hackathon?
A hackathon is a coding competition lasting one weekend where software programmers, developers, designers and interested people come together to build and design something new.
What challenges lie in store for the teams?
The challenges are based on real-life problems that MAN and other players in the transport industry face on a day-to-day basis. We provide rich real-world data and descriptions of unsolved problems which you are free to choose from.
What is the goal?
The primary goal is to have fun, connect with new people and build something cool. The secondary goal is to solve an exciting and challenging problem that could impact thousands of lives every day.
Who can participate?
Anyone who loves to learn and build cool stuff can attend. Whether you have a background in data science, programming, design or business – we want to invite a diverse community to have fun and solve interesting problems!
How can I apply for the event?
Simply register above. ☺
What will it cost me to participate?
Participation is free. Unfortunately, we are unable to cover your hotel and travel expenses.
Which technology is used for the Hackathon?
Microsoft is our technology partner and created the whole technology platform for our event. You will only use Microsoft Azure technology during the hackathon. But no worries if you think you are not experienced with Azure technology. There will be coaches during every hacking day that support you with the technology and help you making your ideas real.
What do I need to bring?
Yourself, your computer and your charger are mandatory. You are free to bring anything else that creates a hacking atmosphere you can thrive in e.g. your favorite energy drink, your hacking hoodie or your favorite mousepad. We’ll figure out the rest.
Where can I sleep?
We recommend the following hotels: Leonardo Hotel Munich City Olympiapark, harry’s home Munich Moosach. Please be aware that there is no overnight accommodation at the venue and that accommodation costs are on own expenses.
Where does the Hackathon take place?
Dieselstraße 3, 85757 Karlsfeld
How do I get to the venue?
We recommend to use our free shuttle service between Munich central station and the venue – especially as the location is not easy to reach and there is no parking.
How can you win the hackathon? What are the criteria for winning the hackathon?
Most of all, we want you to have fun, put passion into your project and deliver an interesting pitch. When selecting winners, we will judge them based on the innovation, feasibility, coolness and delivery of the pitch.
I don’t have a team. Can I still join?
We are currently only looking for complete teams. We encourage you to reach out to your friends and colleagues at your university or work.
